Yams with Orange Olive Oil (8+ Months)

Yam is a vegetable that resembles radish in taste and texture, does not see the value it deserves in the kitchen, and is innumerable with its healing properties. It can also be consumed raw, even more useful raw, but we should prefer to give it to babies by cooking because it causes gas. This meal is very good for constipation complaints seen in most babies who start complementary foods. There are two reasons for this;

Materials

  • Half kilo of yams
  • 1 onion
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 tablespoons of bulgur
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil


Fabrication

  • Chop the onion and sauté with water.
  • Next, the yams are shaved like carrots or peeled thinly. The cube is cut into cubes. The chopped apples are kept in water with lemon so that they do not turn black. For this, squeeze the juice of 1 lemon and use half of it. We will add the other half to the meal.
  • After the onion is sautéed, add the carrot cut into rounds, diced potatoes, bulgur and macaroni to the pot. Fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add the juice of 1 orange and the juice of half a lemon to the pot and top up with warm water to the level of the ingredients.
  • When the food starts to boil, reduce the heat and add the olive oil that is close to cooking.
  • Puree the amount of food your baby will eat with a fork, if not, blend it.
